On the night of Nov. 11, the walls of the Goldstein Auditorium shook, leaking dance and electronic music into the streets of Syracuse. University Union, a Syracuse University student organization, had outdone themselves organizing the 2017 Bandersnatch Concert Series. The headliner was Mura Masa, a European artist whose music lies between the genres of electropop and nu-disco. His top songs on Spotify are "Love$ick" featuring A$AP Rocky with over 100 million streams, and "Firefly" with nearly 50 million streams.
The opening acts were student artist, Roseville and rapper Khary; both performances perfectly amped up the crowd more and more with each song. Khary was showcased on the public snapchat story performing parts of his song in the pit, and students ended up on the stage dancing for the crowd.
The night was an overall success. The epic light displays coordinated with any and all bass drops, and the crowd was always moving with the music, keeping the venue alive by throwing their hands in the air and swaying with the beat. From the venue to the performances to the crowd’s reaction, it’s safe to say another successful Bandersnatch Concert Series is in the books.
