This week marks the "It's on Us" [7] campaign's National Week of Action. Vice President Joe Biden, alumnus of the College of Law's class of 1968 and advocate for the cause, will be visiting the SU campus Nov. 12 in honor of the National Week of Action. [8]
Biden's visit was announced to the SU campus community in an email sent by Chancellor Kent Syverud on Nov. 6. In the email, Syverud said Biden will attend an event in the Goldstein Auditorium [9] in the Schine Student Center [10] and that more details will be shared soon.
Syverud said Biden's visit will be a national recognition of the work SU has put into raising awareness about and putting an end to sexual assault and relationship violence.
Events, sponsored by the Chancellor's Task Force on Sexual and Relationship Violence, [11] will be held every day in honor of the National Week of Action and include tabling, discussions and video screenings.
The week will kick off Monday, with two events held in the Joyce Herghenhan Auditorium in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications [12]. In "Asking for It: The Alarming Rise of Rape Culture - And What We Can Do About It," author Kate Harding [13] will read a passage from her book of the same title. Following this wiill be "A Conversation across Cultures: Sexual and Relationship Violence in a Global Context," which will be a discussion among students, faculty and staff from different world cultures about sexual violence.

"It's on Us" is a national campaign that began last fall to spread awareness about sexual assault on college campuses. According to Syverud's email, Samantha Skaller, a junior in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, is one of 17 students from across the country on the "It's on Us" student advisory comittee.
