Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will visit Syracuse University and speak at Hendricks Chapel on Monday.
The midday event will be free and open to the public. Doors to Hendricks will open at 9:45 a.m. and seating is first-come, first-serve, according to an email sent by James Steinberg to the SU community. All guests must be seated by 11:15 a.m. The event will also be available via live webstream [8].
"America and the World" will be the policy conversation, led by Steinberg, dean of the Maxwell School of Citizenship. Steinberg was Clinton's Deputy Secretary of State prior to taking his current position at SU in June 2011.
"This is an exceptional opportunity for our community to see and hear Secretary Clinton discuss some of today's most pressing international issues," Steinberg said in the email.
Clinton's visit comes less than a week after a visit by several White House officials for the White House Young America series [9].
Backpacks and large bags are discouraged, and people who bring them will be subject to additional security screenings, according to an article [10] published by The Syracuse Post-Standard on Friday. Pay parking is available in the Irving parking garage.
