University Union

Review: Despite the disconnect between Twenty One Pilots and opener Travi$ Scott, University Union's Homecoming concert offered a fun night of music for a small crowd.

University Union’s Homecoming concert on Thursday in Goldstein suffered an identity crisis.

The show featured local openers Shiffley, a pop rock band hellbent on bringing synth back, Travi$ Scott, an up-and-coming rapper who mostly yelled at the crowd for his half hour set, and Twenty One Pilots, the alt-pop/hip-hop headliners.

Review: The pop star performed many of her No. 1 hits at the Carrier Dome on Friday, with openers Drop City Yacht Club and Trey Songz.

Syracuse University’s annual Block Party is time for students to break loose, to quench their thirst with questionable beverages and say goodbye to a semester that's overstayed its welcome. In the process of achieving these three goals, things may get a little inappropriate. Thus, it was fitting that pop vocalist extraordinaire Madam Kesha Rose Sebert made a visit to SU to sing a few songs on this glorified collegiate holiday.

April 23, 2013 - 5:11pm
We asked a few SU students what they thought about Ke$ha's arrival on campus and the tradition of Block Party. Here's what they said.

Syracuse University’s Block Party concert is the last hurrah for the student body at the end of the academic year, right before finals week. It’s the students’ last chance to unwind before rushing to the closest library to study for exams and to tweak final projects.

This year, SU’s Univeristy Union welcomes platinum selling artist Ke$ha as the headlining act for Block Party 2013 on Friday April 26, with special guest Trey Songz. Ke$ha has dominated Billboard charts since 2009, with her debut single "Tik Tok" selling 12.8 million copies worldwide just in 2010.
