Rock band The 1975, alt-pop duo Oh Wonder to play Rock the Dome

University Union's winter concert will return to the Carrier Dome on Nov. 4 after going on hiatus in 2013.

After disappearing from University Union’s concert calendar for several years, Rock the Dome will return this November with rock band The 1975 and alt-pop duo Oh Wonder.

The concert will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, in the Carrier Dome, UU officials announced Sunday night. In addition to The 1975 and Oh Wonder performing, rapper 070 Shake will open the show.

Hotel Garuda, Sam Feldt turn opening Bandersnatch into dance party

Review: EDM DJs Hotel Garuda opened and Sam Feldt finished what was truly a memorable sold-out Bandersnatch concert.

Virtually every song Sam Feldt played during University Union’s first Bandersnatch concert of the year was met with dancing from the college kids that came to see the 23-year-old perform.

An aura of happiness followed the young DJ, who headlined the concert Wednesday night. Feldt performed for well over an hour, periodically slowing down the current song he was mixing to thank the audience. His presence and masterful mixing impressed everyone in the room.

DJ Sam Feldt, EDM duo Hotel Garuda to open Bandersnatch

The DJs and EDM artists will open University Union’s Bandersnatch Concert Series on Oct. 12.

Dutch DJ Sam Feldt will open this year’s Bandersnatch Concert Series, with DJ-producer duo Hotel Garuda providing support, University Union announced Monday night in a press release.

The concert will take place at 8 p.m. on Oct. 12 in the Schine Underground. Tickets — which are $5 with a valid college ID for SU/ESF students, faculty and staff — are available through the Schine Box Office starting Tuesday at 11 a.m.

Review: Prior to University Union announcing the headliner hadn't show up, concertgoers enjoyed performances from LOLO, Stephen, Marshmello, D.R.A.M. and Tove Lo during a cloudless day.

The fans waited.

And waited.

But eventually, University Union announced Juice Jam headliner Fetty Wap hadn't shown up, and instructed everybody at Skytop Field on South Campus to  go home.

Haven't heard of every artist who's performing in our backyard on Sunday? Look no further; here's an introductory course on all the amazing sounds that'll be heard in a couple days.

Before classes even began, new and returning students alike were counting down the days until Juice Jam 2016. With buses starting to take students to Skytop Field at 11 a.m. on Sunday, the day has finally come. Headliner Fetty Wap, a New Jersey rapper best known for his hit single “Trap Queen,” will take the stage with Monty alongside other performers including pop artist Tove Lo, DJ and producer Marshmello, rapper D.R.A.M., indie electronic artist Stephen, and rock artist LOLO.

James Franco shares behind-the-scenes stories, career advice during Orange Central visit

The actor spoke to a sold-out crowd about his acting career, heroes and pitfalls during Orange Central's "An Evening With James Franco."

While students welcomed James Franco's on-set anecdotes, it was the actor and filmmaker's advice to young creatives that was deemed most valuable. Speaking to a sold-out crowd in Goldstein Auditorium Saturday night, Franco said the best way to sharpen creative talent is to carve out a little time every day to work on it.

“Just do it,” Franco said. “If you want to be good at something, why not do it obsessively?”

Actor James Franco to visit campus

The actor and filmmaker will speak in Goldstein Auditorium during Orange Central homecoming weekend.

Occasional serious actor, comedian and sometimes college instructor James Franco will make an appearance at Syracuse University this September.

DJ Duo The Chainsmokers and Chance the Rapper to co-headline Block Party 2016

Alternative musician Jon Bellion will open the annual concert, which takes place in the Carrier Dome.

Chicago hip-hop artist Chance the Rapper and DJ/producer duo The Chainsmokers will be performing at Block Party 2016, University Union announced in a press release Sunday night. The concert, which will be opened by alternative artist Jon Bellion, takes place on April 29.

Comedian Hannibal Buress to perform on campus

The 'Broad City' and 'Eric André Show' star will headline University Union's first comedy show of the semester.

Comedian Hannibal Buress has been showing up in some of comedy’s biggest TV shows during the past few years, and his next stop is Syracuse University.

University Union announced “An Evening with Hannibal Buress,” a comedy performance scheduled for 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, at Goldstein Auditorium.
