Sophomore forward Stephanie Grossi's hat-trick headed a revenge-fueled Orange performance Wednesday night at the Tennity Ice Pavilion.

The Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers beat the Orange last March in the second game of the College Hockey America tournament, eliminating Syracuse from the playoffs. Upperclassmen such as sophomore Stephanie Grossi circled Wednesday's game on her calendar, and made the most of the opportunity for revenge.

Syracuse men's soccer head coach Ian McIntyre: "Every game ends in 90 minutes, but to conceive in the final minute is a tough one."

Up to the final minute of the game between the Clemson Tigers and Syracuse Orange, it was equal. The Orange held tempo for most of the first half but were unable to score, and by the second, the No. 4 Tigers (11-1-2, 4-1-1 ACC) crept back in.

The Tigers' running-back and Heisman hopeful Leonard Fournette was the difference maker.

Marshall Street and the Campus Quad were abuzz for college football Saturday. Joining the usual sea of orange was a fleet of purple and gold as thousands of LSU fans made the long trip from Baton Rouge cheer on their Bayou Bengals. You could hear chants of “Let’s Go Orange” or “Geaux Tigers” as the campus transformed into a festival like atmosphere as each contingent huddled together before making their way into the Carrier Dome.

Although 3-0, Syracuse will face its toughest opponent in week four and with a weak depth chart, they'll need key players to step up.

With just hours until kick-off, the SU football team finds themselves facing arguably their greatest test of the season. Only the Clemson version of the Tigers would argue that LSU is not the biggest game on the ‘Cuse schedule.  But, until that late season ACC showdown at home, this upcoming clash in the Dome will have a Super Bowl feel for Central New York.

Syracuse took down Providence Saturday in the Carrier Dome 10-9.

The No. 17 Syracuse Orange (5-4) picked up a win Saturday against the No. 11 Princeton Tigers (6-3) in front of a home crowd at the Carrier Dome. The Orange scored 4 unanswered goals during a decisive third quarter to win its first game in over two weeks.

"It was a very good win for us," coach John Desko said. "We're gonna enjoy it for the next ten minutes here and then get ready for the (Cornell) Big Red on Tuesday."

Vincent Von Duke is a sixth-generation animal trainer, who performed at the New York State Fairgrounds with the Tigris Shrine Circus.

For Vincent Von Duke, training lions and tigers is a family business. His family came to America from Europe in the 1920s and started training the large felines. Von Duke is continuing the tradition today as a sixth-generation trainer with his two lions and three tigers: a male lion, a female lion, a white tiger, red Siberian tiger and orange Bengal tiger.
