Despite scoring first, Syracuse were limited to five shots the entire game.

Syracuse men’s soccer team lost its ACC home opener to an assured Louisville team at SU Soccer Stadium.

The Orange opened the scoring in the 11th minute. Hugo Delhommelle put a corner in from the left and found defender John-Austin Ricks at the near post. Ricks put the header across the keeper into the far corner.

The calendars have been circled and the hype is building around Syracuse University’s football season opener against Central Connecticut State this Friday. But in the midst of Orange fever, the team has had an eventful couple of weeks leading up to its first game. Here’s a recap of what is going on ahead of Friday’s opener.

Grandsons reflect on Coach Mac's legacy: By Monica Ortiz

Richard F. "Dick" MacPherson, a former Syracuse head football coach, passed away on August 8. He was 86.

Coach MacPherson, known by many as "Coach Mac", won 66 games in nine years at the helm of the program. Some of his most notable accomplishments included a 17-9 victory over No.1 Nebraska in 1984, four bowl wins, and an undefeated season in 1987.

Coach Mac led Syracuse to eleven wins that season, including wins against West Virginia, Pittsburgh and Penn State. In the Sugar Bowl, The Orange tied 16-16 against Auburn.

The Orange was one of nine ACC schools to receive a vote

The release of the USA Today Amway Coaches Poll on Thursday afternoon has caused a lot of buzz for the Orange.

The weekly poll revealed the top 25 teams voted on by a pool of coaches randomly chosen from the American Football Coaches Association. Syracuse football, who has not received any votes since the Week 8 AP poll in 2011 when the team beat West Virginia, received three votes in the top 25.

The Orange are a lot more comfortable going into this year’s training camp. Head coach Dino Babers, quarterback Eric Dungey, and linebacker Zaire Franklin addressed the media on the first day of their 22-practice training camp.

Team Orange tops Team White, 14-0, in SU's annual exhibition at the Carrier Dome.

The Syracuse football program hosted its annual spring showcase on Saturday afternoon at the Carrier Dome. The orange squad, which featured most of the SU starters from a season ago, topped Team White, 14-0. Syracuse opens its regular season Friday, Sept. 1 against Central Connecticut State at the Carrier Dome.

The first time Syracuse head football coach Dino Babers had ever seen a Canadian was during his playing days as a running and defensive back for the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

National Signing Day 2017 took place around the country on Wednesday and Syracuse was no exception.

Some refer to the day as Christmas Eve, because there is so much to look forward to and following all of the Orange's prospects signing, SU head coach Dino Babers thanked his team for the way they helped to recruit this year’s class.

“When I think about the 2017 recruiting class I think about the 2017 football team,” he said.
