Three Syracuse players scored to win their fourth match of the season.

Syracuse women’s soccer team dominated Fairfield in a 3-0 win on a wet Sunday afternoon at SU Soccer Stadium. This was the second game in a row that the Orange won by such a scoreline as the team improved to 4-1-1 on the season

Within three minutes, Syracuse grabbed control of the game when freshman forward Kate Donavan curled a strike over the Stag goalkeeper Megan Defeo. The goal marked Donavan’s third goal in two games.

Five different scorers got on board for the team.

In its home debut, the 5th ranked Syracuse Orange extended its shutout streak to four with a commanding five-nil victory over Bucknell. The Orange outshot the Bison 18 to zero and didn’t surrender a single corner in the game.

In control from start to finish, head coach Ange Bradley is encouraged by the early form of her team.

“I’m enjoying the process of the connections and the passing and the five different people scoring.” Bradley said.

The $13 million project will help eliminate scheduling conflicts and weather woes for the Orange.

Syracuse University hopes its new indoor football-training facility’s full-size practice field, large roof and state-of-the-art equipment will impress new recruits, as well as ease the already-busy schedules of student-athletes.

“One of the biggest amenities is their time,” said Joe Giansante, an executive in the university’s athletics department, referring to student-athletes.

Over the years, Syracuse University's changing logo reflects a desire to find a brand that will stand out from the rest.

If you don’t like the weather in Syracuse, just wait a few minutes for it to change. Some might argue the same could be said about the Syracuse University logo.

“Most professional and college teams have some kind of history of logo evolution,” said Marc Donabella, Associate Director of athletics and of marketing at Syracuse University.

“There are many factors that affect marketing trends and as technology and the way consumers view your logo evolve, so must the brand,” he added.

Although Syracuse has the largest indoor arena within 260 miles, major concerts and community events are rare because of its commitment to Orange athletics and campus activities.

Looming over the Syracuse skyline is a 527,320 square foot mass of gray cement on the campus of Syracuse University. Though bland to the eye on its exterior, the building frequently radiates orange and the emotion of fervent fans from the inside.

The Carrier Dome is a staple of the university, providing a lifetime of memories for its guests. It welcomes students on preview days, bids them farewell during commencement and hosts countless events in between.

For the first time in 20 years the SU football will be split in to two separate squads. Here’s how the team is shaping up for its game on Saturday, April 16 in the Dome.

Offense

Quarterback - Senior Ryan Nassib has clearly locked up the starting spot with a solid performance throughout spring practice. There is still some concern about overthrowing his receivers, something he has done regularly during practice, but that chemistry should develop before next fall.

Syracuse pulled out the overtime win in a hard fought contest between the two Central New York rivals despite a dominant performance from Hobart goalie Max Silberlicht.

The Central New York Lacrosse rivalry between the Syracuse Orange (5-1, Big East 1-0) and the Hobart Statesmen (2-4, 0-1 ECAC) continued Tuesday night when the Orange squeaked by with a 9-8 overtime win at a cold and wet McCooey Field in Geneva, N.Y.

A crowd of 2,000 came out in full force despite the conditions, peppering SU players with unmentionable chants about their mothers and sisters and even a reappearance of the dead fish toss onto the turf.
