Home plate was near the 50-yard line, field goal posts were used as foul poles, and bases were mounted into the turf of Ernie Davis Legends Field for the first ever softball game in the Carrier Dome.
"It was so much fun, great energy in here," head coach Leigh Ross said. "The girls were extra excited to have so many fans here."

Syracuse kept their small winning streak alive as they won both games in a double header against Villanova. Despite an early rain delay, the umpires were able to squeeze in both games. For Syracuse (28-10, 7-5) both wins put their Big East record two games over .500 while Villanova (15-25-1, 2-11) continued to flounder in conference play as they lost both their tenth and eleventh in Big East play.
Orange play poorly on offense and defense in rough weekend against Bulls.
Syracuse softball (24-8, 3-3) seemed to be off to a promising start before this past weekend. After traveling south to play South Florida (22-15, 4-0) and getting swept by the Bulls, expectations are a bit tempered. The weekend lacked any offense from the Orange along with porous defense.
