SU shakes off two-game losing streak in victory over Pirates

Despite a horrid first half, the Orange rallied to beat Seton Hall, 75-63, and move on to play Pittsburgh.

After an incredibly slow start, Syracuse pulled out the victory over Seton Hall in the second round of the final Big East tournament.

The No. 19 Orange (24-8) won 75-63, but were down by as many as 10 in the first half, before mounting a comeback to tie the game up at halftime. The tie allowed for a reset for the second half, which turned out to be all Syracuse.

Triche's career night pushes Orange past Pirates

Senior guard Brandon Triche scored over 20 points for the sixth time this year as No. 6 Syracuse defeated Seton Hall 76-55.

Behind a bounce back performance from senior Brandon Triche, the No. 6 Syracuse Orange (21-4, 9-3) came away with a 76-65 victory over Seton Hall (13-13, 2-11) Saturday night.

Triche scored a season high 29 points on 10-18 shooting, including 4-7 from beyond the arc.

Lead by Freshman Brianna Butler and Brittany Sykes, the Orange defeated Seton Hall 65-34 Wednesday night.

After about seven minutes of play, the No. 24 Syracuse (17-3, 5-2) women’s basketball team broke open a once tight ball game in the inevitable dismantling of Seton Hall (8-4, 3-5), 65-34.

Jeremy Hazell got hot early and poured in 28 points to help Seton Hall rout Syracuse at home and push the Orange's losing streak to three.

With 6:14 left in the second half the Syracuse faithful had seen enough. Jeremy Hazell had just converted a three-point play off of a fast break putting Seton Hall up by 24. Most of the 21,950 in attendance headed to the exits in disdain as Hazell hosted his own coming out party in the Dome, leading the Pirates to a 90-68 win.
