Syracuse tames the Tigers with strong, balanced defensive effort to remain undefeated on the year

If you’re missing the secret ingredient for that perfect stuffing recipe, blame Syracuse senior forward James Southerland, because he probably stole it.

Southerland had five of sixth-ranked Syracuse’s 19 steals and scored career high 22 points to lead a balanced Orange squad to a 73-53 win over the Princeton Tigers Wednesday night at the Carrier Dome. Southerland led an active Syracuse defense that clogged the passing lanes of Princeton’s patented motion offense all night long, resulting in 24 turnovers for the Tigers.

Baye Keita scored a career-high 15 points off the bench to pace SU to their second win of the season.

Brandon Triche scored 21 points to lead the No. 8 Syracuse Orange men's basketball team to a 88-57 victory over Wagner Sunday afternoon.

Using a balanced offensive attack, SU nearly hit the century mark in its exhibition game against Pace.

In its first exhibition game of the season, SU put on a clinic in defeating Pace University by a score of 99-63. A combination of ball movement, stifling defense and a size advantage gave the Orange an ability to pull away early.

Despite 23 points from SU alum Carmelo Anthony, hot shooting from the 76ers thwarted a victorious homecoming for the Knicks' star

After 50 years NBA basketball finally returned to Syracuse. On Monday night NBA superstar and former SU basketball player, Carmelo Anthony, led the New York Knicks to the Carrier Dome to face off against the Philadelphia 76ers.

SU's starting guard has cousins living here in Syracuse to support him on and off the basketball court this season.

Teams rise to the top of the polls with support.

As the Syracuse University men's basketball team currently plays as the nation's No. 1 team, senior guard Scoop Jardine knows all about support.

Most fans know Jardine is a cousin to fellow teammate sophomore Dion Waiters, but the senior guard also has two more cousins who moved to Syracuse during the past year.

The Orange eye the No. 1 spot in the nation after defeating George Washington, 85-50.

The No. 3 Syracuse University men's basketball team (10-0, 8-0 home) used its stingy defense to blow past George Washington University (4-5, 1-3 road) in the Carrier Dome Saturday, 85-50. The Orange forced 18 turnovers and held the Colonials to just 31 percent shooting from the field. With No. 1 Kentucky and No. 2 Ohio State losing this weekend, the win should vault Syracuse to the top of the rankings Monday.

Despite its offensive struggles late in the game, the No. 3 Syracuse University men's basketball team holds on to defeat Marshall University and extend its record to 9-0.

If a fan were to look at the box score after the No. 3 Syracuse men's basketball team's (9-0, 6-0 home) 62-56 victory over the Marshall Thundering Herd (5-2, 2-1 road) Tuesday night, it would seem as though it was a close game the whole night. It would seem as though it were a barn burner or even a possible upset waiting to happen.

The Syracuse University men's basketball team readies itself for its first matchup against a ranked opponent this season with the Florida Gators coming to the Carrier Dome Friday.

It has been two years since the No. 3 Syracuse University men’s basketball team (7-0, 5-0 home) has faced the No. 9 Florida Gators (5-1, 2-1 road), and in those two years, a lot has changed for both programs.
