The first ACC match of the season concluded as a 1-1 tie with the Louisville Cardinals.
An evenly played match between the Syracuse Orange and Louisville Cardinals ended after double overtime in a 1-1 draw. Both ACC (3-1-1, 0-0-1 ACC) teams scored in the first half of a brisk Friday night that was unable to produce a victor, perhaps rightfully so.
"It was two honest teams that canceled each other out," Syracuse Head Coach Ian McIntyre said. "A fair result."
Friday night featured deadly SU crosses, volleys and shots as the offense took full advantage of an overwhelmed Panthers team.
Junior forward Ben Polk scored a hat-trick which highlighted a 5-0 Syracuse rout of Pittsburgh on Friday night at the SU Soccer Stadium. The Orange earned their first ACC victory and moved their season record to 5-2-1 and 1-1-1 in conference play, while the Panthers are 4-3-1 and 0-3.
