When looking for a good band name, pop/rock band and Juice Jam artist Smallpools turned to artists like Green Day and Coldplay for inspiration. They wanted a brand new compound word that their music would give meaning to. Unfortunately, they said, people still get very hung up on the whole “pool” thing.

Juice Jam 2017 opener Jeremy Zucker is not only an R&B pop artist and producer, he’s also a Colorado College senior.
While the 21 year old describes his molecular and cellular biology program as extremely academically rigorous, he gets at least two or three hours a day to mess around in his studio basement.
“I’m in like a cancer cell bio class right now,” Zucker said. “(But) I’m not going to cure cancer.”
Review: The Diplo-headlined music festival started strong, but petered out as the audience dwindled.
By 11 a.m. buses full of glittery girls in crop tops and boys in partially buttoned Hawaiian shirts and started the trek to South Campus. The lineup at Juice Jam 2017 consisted of Diplo, Ugly God, MØ, Smallpools, and Jeremy Zucker. The first three sets would’ve been enough to fill the fun day of music most students were looking for, but Ugly God and Diplo’s sets left something to be desired.
The popular DJ, who performed on the Syracuse University campus in 2011, will return to headline this year's Juice Jam.
University Union announced tonight that the Syracuse Univeresity Juice Jam Music Festival will be headlined by Diplo, and will also include music performed by Ugly God, MØ, Smallpools and Jeremy Zucker.
The festival will take place across two stages on Sept. 10 at Skytop Field, and doors will open at 12:15 pm. Tickets for the event will be $20 for SU/ESF students with a valid ID. Only two tickets can be purchased at any time. A valid SU, ESF, college or military ID must be presented at the gate in order to gain entry.
