Review: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Hocus Pocus" bring the girl power.
Joss Whedon’s 1992 teen flick Buffy the Vampire Slayer laid the ground work for his television show of the same name. The most popular girl in her high school, Buffy must move from vapid cheerleader to vampire hunter. In every age, one teenage girl is chosen to defend humanity from the vampires. When one slayer dies, the next is summoned.
Ryan Wickstrand's Zombie Pumpkins celebrates a decade of pumpkin carving concepts.
Some people are completely content with carving the same old triangle-eyed, toothless grinning face into their Halloween pumpkin year after year. Others, however, are up for something a little more challenging.
“By the time I entered my teens, I started to do more advanced carvings with the patterns you find in store-bought kits,” said Zombie Pumpkins owner and lifelong Halloween enthusiast Ryan Wickstrand. “It didn't take long for me to get the urge to design my own, and I never looked back.”
In a pinch to find a Halloween ensemble? Here are three ideas that take minimal effort and cash.
Not everyone wants to dress like a slut on Halloween.
In college, it’s expected that most girls will dress up as some variation of cat, cop, witch or any current pop culture reference that allows them to wear the least amount of clothes. In October.

Trick or treat, give me something good and full of artificial sweeteners and trans-fats to eat?
Halloween candy is tempting and only in season once a year. Plus, it comes in “fun” sizes, so you can eat more and without feeling guilty. Well, without feeling guilty until you look at the ingredient list, or until you eat 15 candy bars and your stomach revolts on you — whichever comes first.
If you're looking to visit a spooky haunted house and enjoy ghouls and gore, Frightmare Farms is the place to go this Halloween.
One of the best things about October is Halloween. I went to Frightmare Farms in Fulton, N.Y. with a group of friends. It’s a little bit of a drive, about 30 minutes or so outside of Syracuse, and costs $12 ($11 if you bring a student ID). The steeper price tag was worth it! Get there early because there will be a long wait. We waited for over an hour to get in, but that's because they wait a decent amount of time between each group so that you are not going through the house with a whole bunch of people.
