SU will take on Georgetown, Virginia and Duke in the Carrier Dome

The ACC released its men’s basketball schedule for the upcoming season on Monday afternoon, officially finalizing Syracuse’s 2016-17 slate of games.

January 1, 2015 - 2:18am
Led by one of the nation's best players in goalkeeper Alex Bono, the Orange became a legitimate ACC contender.

Magical. Remarkable. Extraordinary.

Heartbreaking.

With a painful 2-1 overtime loss to Georgetown in the third round of the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship on Nov. 30, a monumental season came to a grinding halt for head coach Ian McIntyre and his Syracuse squad.

June 11, 2014 - 2:15pm
The long-time Big East foes have agreed to a four-year, home-and-home series starting in 2015-16.

On Feb. 23, 2013, more than 35,000 fans packed the Carrier Dome to see Georgetown invade Jim Boeheim Court for one final time in Big East play.

But apparently not even conference realignment can keep the Orange and Hoyas apart.

Orange advances in the Big East women's lacrosse tournament after a Hoyas possession faltered in the games closing seconds

With three seconds left in the game, No. 16/15 Georgetown (9-8) held the ball behind the Syracuse goal. Trailing by one goal, all the Hoya’s needed to do was score to send the Big East women’s lacrosse semi-final matchup against No. 2/2 Syracuse’s (16-2) to overtime. Midfielder Hannah Franklin received the pass, but failed to get a shot off as the Orange outlasted the Hoyas in a defensive grudge-match, 7-6 in the Carrier Dome on Thursday.

Syracuse couldn't battle back from a three-goal deficit to beat rival Georgetown in a Big East matchup

The motto for the Syracuse Orange lacrosse team this season is "head, heart, hustle." The Orange showed none of those three H's in today's 10-8 loss to Georgetown. A spotlight was shined on the team's seniors before the game, honoring the last time they took the field in the Carrier Dome. But that spotlight went out as soon as the first quarter began.

April 15, 2012 - 9:41am
Freshmen Kailah Kempney and Devon Collins scored five goals apiece as Syracuse remained unbeaten in Big East play.

From the moment it stepped on the field, No. 2/2 Syracuse dominated No. 14/11 Georgetown (8-4, 4-2 Big East), in every way. With a strong offense and a stringent defense, the Orange (10-2, 4-0) easily defeated the Hoyas 22-11 Saturday in the Carrier Dome.

What to watch for as the Big East gets set for tip-off at its end-of-the-year tournament at Madison Square Garden.

The Favorite - Syracuse

No one in the Big East combines raw ability with length and athleticism like the Orange do.

The Dark horse - Cincinnati

The Bearcats have the guards to make a run and create mismatches with their small lineup.

Knocked out early - Notre Dame

Had a big win over SU, but ND relies too much on the long ball. If they're not falling the Irish will have a short stay in New York City.

Kris Joseph was SU's best player on the court Wednesday

1. SU needs senior Scoop, not sophomore Scoop

February 9, 2012 - 12:11am
Kris Joseph nails 3-pointer during extra play that the No. 2 Orange need to top No. 12 Hoyas.

There was no way No. 2 Syracuse (24-1, 11-1) was going to let No. 12 Georgetown (18-5, 8-4) just walk into the Carrier Dome and beat them. There was no way senior forward Kris Joseph was going to let his team lose against their Big East rival. And there was no way Jim Boeheim was going to have to wait until another game for win number 880 to pull ahead of Dean Smith for the third most wins by a coach in NCAA Division I history.
