SU guard totals game-high 26 points, banks in game-winning 3-pointer as time expires

John Gillon hesitated a split second before dribbling up the court for Syracuse’s final possession against Duke on Wednesday night.

With the score tied at 75 and eight seconds remaining in regulation, Blue Devils guard Luke Kennard missed a jumper that would have given his team a late lead. Syracuse forward Tyler Lydon corralled the rebound and kicked the ball out to guard Tyus Battle, who swung it cross court to Gillon.

Students camp outside the Carrier Dome in preparation for Syracuse's basketball game against Duke.

It’s 8:50 a.m. on a Tuesday. I don’t have class until 11:00 this morning, but I’m groggily stumbling down the steps of Gate E at the Carrier Dome. I glance up at the Boeheimburg sign, take the last few steps, and enter my group’s tent.

To have the best seats possible for Syracuse vs. Duke, students camp at the Carrier Dome. Tents, blankets, and sleeping bags are all essentials. Students form groups of four and at least one person must be in the group’s tent at all times.
