After winning its third bowl game in four years, Syracuse will play some of the best teams in 2013, including Florida State, Louisville and Duke in the Carrier Dome.

The Orange look to build off a solid 2013 football campaign with a pretty tough 2014 schedule.

After year that saw 11 Atlantic Coast Conference (12 if your count the impending inclusion of Louisville in 2014) play in bowl games, the Orange face eight of them next season, according to the SU Athletic Department

SU plays its season opener against former Big East rival Villanova on Saturday August 30 in the Carrier Dome.

Although he played long before the Orange joined the ACC, legendary running back Floyd Little was inducted into the 2013 ACC Class of Legends.

Dubbing Floyd Little an ACC legend might be a bit of an awkward fit — the Orange have yet to play a single football game in the conference, after all — but odds are good that no one will mind giving one more trophy and standing ovation to No. 44.

Little, along with 13 others, was named to the 2013 Class of Legends by the ACC this afternoon. The group will be honored at the ACC Championship Game at a dinner on Dec. 6 and on the field in Charlotte on Dec. 7.

After former SU head football coach Doug Marrone left the Orange to coach the Buffalo Bills, it seems as though his offensive coordinator at Syracuse, Nathaniel Hackett, will run the Bills' offense next season

The Syracuse football coaching carousel continues. Only a few days removed from the news that former Syracuse head football coach Doug Marrome decided to leave for the NFL, it seems as though another integral part of SU's dominant offense will be going with him.

According to Bruce Feldman of CBSsports.com, SU defensive coordinator Scott Shafer will replace Doug Marrone as head football coach

The Orange football team has found Doug Marrone’s replacement, according to reports.

Scott Shafer, the team’s current defensive coordinator, will be promoted to head coach, according to Bruce Feldman of CBSsports.com. The promotion comes days after Marrone decided to become the head coach of the Buffalo Bills

Although he coached at Syracuse for only four seasons, former head football coach Doug Marrone helped revitalize a fading program.

It was only a matter of time before another team decided it needed Doug Marrone’s help. Eight days after leading the Syracuse football team to its second bowl victory in three years, Marrone accepted the head coaching position at the Buffalo Bills.

The announcement of a Syracuse lacrosse game at the New Meadowlands Complex in East Rutherford, N.J. furthered the attempt of the University to become N.Y.'s team.

It is time Syracuse opened a satellite campus in metro New York.

The SU Department of Athletic Communications announced the Orange men’s lacrosse, the two-time defending national champions, have the distinct honor of christening the New Meadowlands Complex this spring.
