Syracuse University’s housing lottery starts Wednesday, which means students need to figure out where they want to live on-campus next year. Whether you just want to get through your two-year housing requirement, or want to live in a dorm before going abroad, deciding on housing can be stressful. Freshman duo living in Boland-Brewster-Brockway dorm comes together to create musical harmony.

When a name like Thunderwolfe reverberates through the loudspeakers, few expect to see freshmen Courtnee Futch and Julia Wolfe take the stage.

Biology freshman and vocalist Futch teamed up with music freshman Wolfe, who is equally capable on guitar and vocals, to form Thunderwolfe in the humble halls of the Boland-Brewster-Brockway dorm complex.

Thunderwolfe’s talent and charisma garnered a resounding reputation among modest audiences. The duo quickly surpassed shows on the Syracuse University quad, the typical venu for new student musicians.

SU students react to 168 new surveillance cameras placed near the entrances and exits of campus residence halls.

Syracuse University’s Department of Public Safety recently completed a long-term project to bring 168 surveillance cameras to campus residence halls and one academic building.

While the cameras are constantly rolling, DPS dispatchers are not always monitoring the footage.  If a crime occurs near an SU dorm, DPS officials will check the tape and see who has been hanging around the building.
