Watch the night inside the Carrier Dome unfold as Syracuse University makes history.

The numbers still seem astounding.

IWithin the Carrier Dome, 34,616 fans simultaneously cheered, screamed and let their Orange spirit explode for two solid hours Saturday night as Syracuse ripped Villanova  95-77.

Fans watched for 40 minutes as players battled on Jim Boeheim's court-- 10 guys sweating, bumping and fighting for control of the ball and the most baskets.  Two bitter rivals tangling for the top position in the Big East and top seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament.

After giving up a 16-point second half lead, the Orange buckled down to hang onto its lead and end with a victory against arch-rival UConn.

With the No. 2 national ranking on the line and the extra anticipation of its first meeting with Connecticut since last year's historic six overtime game at Madison Square Garden, Syracuse found a way to fend off its Big East rival yet again in Wednesday's 72-67 nail-biter win at the Carrier Dome.

Rick Jackson led Syracuse with 15 points, while Kris Joseph and Wes Johnson had 14 and 13 respectively. Joseph and Johnson combined to make six straight free throws in the final 33 seconds to help seal the win for the Orange.

February 8, 2010 - 1:12pm
The Orange begin their hunt for a third national championship in a row with two exhibition games against LeMoyne College and Hofstra University Sunday at the Dome.

Despite losing senior leaders Kenny Nims, Dan Hardy, and Matt Abbott, the Orange begin the 2010 season with very high expectations. Syracuse is the pre-season No. 1 ranked team in the nation and the consensus pick to win this year’s NCAA tournament. The Orange edged out Duke to claim the top spot in both the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) preseason coaches poll and the NIKE/Inside Lacrosse preseason media rankings.

SU honors four community members dedicated to continuing Dr. King’s journey.

There was a lot of singing at SU’s 25th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration.

The Black Celestial Choir sang. The university’s MLK Community Choir sang. And some previously unsung heroes had their praises sung.

Syracuse University posted its 11th consecutive victory, defeating little Wagner (2-4) in women’s basketball, 93-55, Wednesday night.

Witness the power of the 23rd letter of the alphabet. It's everywhere, most notably in the fairer sex. Women are everywhere in Syracuse: the mayor-elect, the county executive, even the chancellor of the university.

The Syracuse women’s basketball team opened its season at the Carrier Dome for the first time in program history, using stifling defense to defeat Fairleigh Dickinson, 65-45, Friday night.

The star of Syracuse football past visits the Carrier Dome for the first time since graduation.

Many years have passed since the sounds of possibility and admiration swirled amid the Syracuse football fans exiting the Carrier Dome.

More amazing, this Saturday these sounds were after a loss.  The pre-season hype generated by the of hiring new head coach Doug Marrone even prompted former quarterback Donovan McNabb to return to his alma mater for the first time since departing for the NFL in 1999.  Hear what Super Five had to say.

A near capacity crowd turned out to watch the kickoff of the Doug Marrone era.

Doug Marrone's tenure as Syracuse University head football coach began Saturday against Minnesota, and the Carrier Dome was nearly packed with a reported crowd of 48,614.

After the recent disappointing seasons, fans were treated to a solid effort by SU, which led Minnesota 20-17 for most of the second half. Late in the fourth quarter Minnesota tied the game at 20, and ultimately won 23-20 in overtime.
