Pairing the EDM artist and rapper provided plenty of audio ammunition Friday at the annual year-end concert.

After a morning of eating, drinking and celebrating the end of the school semester at MayFest, Syracuse University students headed to the Carrier Dome for a night with 2 Chainz and Zedd that surely did not disappoint.

DJ Brazzabelle opened the show with her signature house mixes that got the crowd off its feet and swaying back and forth. The energy could be felt throughout the Dome as audience members screamed in anticipation of 2 Chainz and Zedd.

University Union revealed the performers for year-end Carrier Dome concert Sunday night.

You’ll want to stay the night after this year’s Mayfest.

Zedd and 2 Chainz are set to perform at this year’s Block Party, UU announced Sunday evening via Twitter. The announcement crashed the UU website momentarily as word spread on social networks.

Zedd is a Russian-German electronic music producer and DJ, known for his Grammy Award-winning hit single “Clarity.” He recently released “Stay the Night,” a collaboration featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore.

Commentary: Syracuse University senior Jillian D'Onfro describes her last Mayfest and thinks back on past years' celebrations.

I noticed the first sign when I peered out my bedroom window and spotted a rainbow bounce house already shaking and swaying two backyards over. The second sign arrived as my roommate thrust a freshly opened beer into my hand. Next came the beats thumping from nearby speakers, the squeals and yips floating through my open windows as someone started their inaugural game of flip cup and a text from a friend asking what time we would start putting glitter on our faces.

“Happy senior year Mayfest,” my roommate grinned wickedly.

Mayfest 2013 offered something for everyone with concerts and free food in Walnut Park, parties on Euclid and an evening Block Party featuring Trey Songz and Ke$ha.

Sunshine was rare at past Mayfest celebrations, but this year Mother Nature pulled through. The mild weather and sun on Friday brought out Syracuse University students and their bright clothing to celebrate. Taking a break from looming finals, students ate, drank and danced the day away.

We asked a few SU students what they thought about Ke$ha's arrival on campus and the tradition of Block Party. Here's what they said.

Syracuse University’s Block Party concert is the last hurrah for the student body at the end of the academic year, right before finals week. It’s the students’ last chance to unwind before rushing to the closest library to study for exams and to tweak final projects.

This year, SU’s Univeristy Union welcomes platinum selling artist Ke$ha as the headlining act for Block Party 2013 on Friday April 26, with special guest Trey Songz. Ke$ha has dominated Billboard charts since 2009, with her debut single "Tik Tok" selling 12.8 million copies worldwide just in 2010.

UPDATE: Trey Songz and Drop City Yacht Club added to the lineup for the April 26 concert in the Carrier Dome with the auto-tuned pop star.

Is Syracuse University ready to get sleazy? Let's sure hope so.

Glitter-infused popstar Ke$ha will headline Syracuse University's annual year-end concert Block Party, joined by singer Trey Songz, the campus programming board University Union announced Tuesday.

Central and Western New York colleges will welcome a slew of musicians to the region over the next month. Which college's programming board got it right?

University Union announced Sunday via Twitter that Ke$ha would headline this year's Block Party on April 26. They retweeted a number of SU students who were ecstatic about the news, but there were many who were unhappy with the announcement as the hashtag #ThingsIdRatherDoThanGoToBlockParty resurfaced on Twitter.

Review: Weather doesn't stop students from dancing, partying during a cold, snowy MayFest celebration.

The cold weather and occasional snow wasn't enough to scare away the Syracuse University students looking for free food, drinks and music at Walnut Park for University Union's annual MayFest celebration Friday.

And, if you weren’t expecting to see Tigger and Elmo dancing on stage dressed as Scoop Jardine and Kris Joseph, you were in for quite a surprise.
