Another poor shooting night for No. 12 Orange lead to the team's third straight loss in Saturday's game against No. 10 Louisville.

The losing streak continues.

No. 12 Syracuse (22-7, 10-6) lost its third game in a row, this time to No. 10 Louisville (24-5, 12-4) on Saturday afternoon, 58-53. This marked the last game between the two in Big East play. Turnovers and a poor offensive start put SU in a hole that they weren’t able to fight out of.

“You can’t make those types of mistakes in tournament type games,” said head coach Jim Boeheim. “It’s difficult to win against zone defenses when you don’t make many shots from the perimeter.”

No. 13 Syracuse battled back after trailing early to Albany, only to lose in double overtime, 16-15, in the team's first season opening loss since 1996.

There was only one word University of Albany coach Scott Marr needed to describe his men’s lacrosse team’s emotions after a double-overtime victory: finally.

Great Danes attackman Miles Thompson scored his third goal nearly a minute into the second overtime, and Albany (1-0) withstood a late rally to hold off No. 13 Syracuse (0-1), 16-15 in the Orange’s home-opener. It was Albany’s first-ever win over upstate New York rival Syracuse.

In the last meeting between Syracuse and Connecticut in the Big East, the Huskies came out victorious in a 66-58 upset.

The No. 6 Syracuse Orange (20-4, 8-3) was upset by the unranked Connecticut Huskies (17-6, 7-4) 66-58 in a physical game at the XL Center in Hartford, CT

Sophomore guard Michael Carter-Williams led the Orange with 15 points on the night and grabbed five rebounds in a game were Syracuse lost the battle on the boards to the Huskies. UConn outrebounded the Orange 19-16 in the first half and went on to outrebound Syracuse 38-36.

No. 9 Syracuse defeated St. John's Sunday in the Carrier Dome, 77-58, extending the Orange's home win-streak to 37 and giving Jim Boeheim his 16th 20-win season.

The Orange expected a return to offensive efficiency and 3-point shooting with the return of James Southerland on Sunday at the Carrier Dome. Syracuse got what it expected.

No. 9 Syracuse (20-3) used ball movement and unselfish play to get open looks from downtown, hitting those shots at an amazing clip. The offensive fury was too much for St. John’s (15-8) to handle as they struggled defensively throughout the game, ending with a 77-58 victory for SU.
