On Thursday evening, Syracuse Fashion Week hosted an outdoor runway show on Walton Street.

Where fashion and community meets, that’s the goal of Syracuse Style.

Many attendees of the Central New York Wine and Chocolate Festival found the event overwhelming and unorganized.

For Colleen Feeney, Rachel Gullotta and Erin Marsden, all from Syracuse, the large amount of distilleries and wineries at the 10th annual AmeriCU Credit Union Wine and Chocolate Festival was overwhelming.

“It’s a little difficult to find which one to go to,” Gullotta said.

Max Hellerstein and Cyrus Summerlin, who created the app Push for Pizza in 2013, stopped at Syracuse University on an 80 college tour to promote the application and encourage students to download it and incorporate it into their lives.

High school friends Cyrus Summerlin and Max Hellerstein have always loved pizza.

Both just 20-years-old, the two combined different slices of experiences over a year and a half to create the iPhone App, Push for Pizza - whose slogan is "the simplest way to order pizza from your favorite pizzeria."

The name gives it away. A user decides what topping they want on their pizza, the image of the topping pops up on the screen, the credit card information is synced, and the pizza is on the way.

Students clean out their closets and trade clothes at the Style Lottery Closet Swap.

Students recycled their wardrobes at the Style Lottery Closet Swap on Monday evening.

The closet swap is comparable to the thrifting experience, since the items gathered are gently used clothing, shoes and accessories from event participants. Junior psychology major Tauri Howard is a brand ambassador for Style Lottery, and she was part of the team who organized the event.

“I went with the idea that the swap would be a one-for-one kind of thing, but I ended up leaving with more than I brought in,” Howard said.

Amateur artists' work was featured at the Everson Museum to reflect that art done as a hobby is still art nonetheless.

After a day at the office, it’s not uncommon to kick back with a glass of wine or a favorite TV show. But for some a paintbrush or a sketchbook is their main afterwork activity. The Everson Museum of Art’s 42nd exhibition “On My Own Time” showcased the work of amateur artists who pursue art for their own enjoyment and, surprisingly, the added health benefits it can offer.

Students got creative at Paint Nite, a painting party Orange After Dark hosted on Friday.

With “What is Love” blaring over the loudspeakers, Claire McKenney looked around the Sheraton Hotel ballroom, which resembled more of an art studio than a meeting space.
