Syracuse (4-4, 2-2 ACC) brought it within one, but couldn't respond to a late Miami touchdown.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - After beating No.2 Clemson last week, Syracuse on Saturday fell short under cloudy skies and humid air to the Miami Hurricanes 27-19.

The Orange struggled in the offense in the first half as quarterback Eric Dungey turned the ball over on the first possession. Defensive lineman Demetrius Jackson caught the first pick, however had the ball stripped by Dungey. This second change of possession gave Syracuse a new set of downs, however they couldn’t gain on the momentum.

The Orange team beat the White team 69-60 in the opening scrimmage.

The Syracuse men's basketball team appeared hungry to play during media day and the scrimmage that followed after.

Head coach Jim Boeheim was the first to answer questions as he and his team made themselves available during media day at Carmelo Anthony Practice Facility early Friday afternoon.

Dozens of former Syracuse lacrosse players return for ceremony, Carrier Dome match.

Dozens of former Syracuse lacrosse players came from across the country back to the Carrier Dome on Saturday as part of the 2017 Orange Alumni Classic.

The Orange team consisted of current women's lacrosse coach Gary Gait to 2017 graduate Sergio Salcido, while the White team had former SU Goalie Evan Molloy and attacker Brad Short, who graduated in 1982. Rosters for the two squads totaled 74 players.


The format of the game had recent graduates competing against each other for two quarters, followed by Syracuse legends.

The Orange never trailed against the defending National Champions, outlasting them 27-24.

When the defending champions came to the Carrier Dome Friday night, Syracuse football was ready.

As families descended on the hill and packed the stadium, fans didn't know what to expect. A week after a 27-24 win against Pittsburgh, many didn't know if they would have similar success against a much more competitive team.

But Syracuse head coach Dino Babers and the other 128 members of his team did.

Syracuse are still looking for its first win of the season.

Wisconsin showed why it's ranked No.1 with a 5-2 win over the Orange, taking both games of the weekend series.

In a game riddled with penalties, power plays were the difference in the first two periods. Defense prevailed on even strength, with frequent shots blocked by the Orange squad. In the third quarter, however, Wisconsin pulled away and their top-end talent outmatched an Orange roster shortened by injuries.

In front of over 33,000 fans, Syracuse was winning most of the second half.

Eric Dungey threw two touchdown passes and ran one in himself, finishing with a total of 413 yards. Syracuse’s (3-3, 1-1 ACC) defense kept Pitt (2-4, 0-2 ACC) from converting a third down until the fourth quarter, finishing 3-of-13, and the Orange beat the Panthers 27-24 Saturday afternoon at the Carrier Dome.

Syracuse’s win over Pitt is its first in five years. The Panthers were 4-0 against the Orange since both joined the ACC in 2013 and had won 11 of the last 12 meetings between the two.

Syracuse are still looking for their first ACC win of the season.

Syracuse men’s soccer was defeated by North Carolina State 2-1 after an aggressive match at SU Soccer Stadium on Friday night.

SU and NC State started off trying to claim dominance on the field from the beginning. After six minutes of play, NC State was on the board with a goal coming from Julius Duchsherer, after getting the rebound from Aide Taiwo’s shot.

Syracuse Orange lose 33-25 to NC State on Sept. 30; Steve Ishmael among standout players

Each week while players are filling up the stat sheets with personal accolades, the Orange are again forced to celebrate those successes while swallowing another team defeat. After Saturday’s loss to ACC foe NC State in Raleigh, North Carolina, the 2-3 team is still searching for a winning formula that involves more than just a few men.

Despite scoring with no time remaining in the second half, Syracuse lost 3-2.

Syracuse lost 3-2 against North Carolina in field hockey at J.S. Coyne Field on Sept. 23. Despite trailing for the entire game, Syracuse forced two goals in the last eighteen minutes through Elaine Carey and Lies Lagerweij. Lagerweij's goal came as time expired. Here is our gallery from the game.
