SU's Lies Lagerweij scores on penalty shot five minutes into extra period to give Orange the victory

The No.4 Syracuse Orange Field Hockey team defeated the No. 7 Louisville Cardinals, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at J.S. Coyne Stadium. The game marked the smallest offensive output by both teams on the season.

There were plenty of scoring chances throughout the match, but the SU defense, led by senior goalie Regan Spencer, was sharp. Spencer made three key saves off of Louisville penalty corners in the contest.

SU closes deficit before halftime, but fails to answer Fighting Irish touchdowns on back-to-back drives in the third quarter

The Syracuse Orange football team was an extra point away from tying the score against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on its first possession Saturday at MetLife Stadium.

After an Irish touchdown on the first play of the game, SU quarterback Eric Dungey capped off an eight play, 75-yard drive with a three-yard touchdown run. But, the Orange’s extra point attempt was blocked by Notre Dame and returned for an Irish two-point conversion.

Battle of top-5 teams ends in tie after two overtimes on rainy Friday evening at SU Soccer Stadium

The Syracuse and North Carolina men’s soccer teams came into Friday’s game at the SU Soccer Stadium with nearly identical records and top five rankings. The similarities between the two teams proved to be indicative of the result on the field, as the game finished in a 0-0 tie.

The tie was the first of the season for both teams, with No. 3 Syracuse moving to 8-1-1 and No. 4 North Carolina to 7-1-1.

Current SU players and former stars face-off in three quarter exhibition

Recent alumni of Syracuse men’s lacrosse revealed that the 2017 team still has a thing or two to learn before the spring.

Former SU stars Dylan Donahue, Derek DeJoe, JoJo Marasco and Matt Abbott returned to the Carrier Dome on Saturday for the annual exhibition game and the Alumni All-Stars defeated the varsity squad 8-4 in three quarters of play.

Red-shirt senior receiver totals 270 yards and two touchdowns as SU tops Huskies, 31-24

Amba Etta-Tawo had three impressive games to start his Syracuse football career. But, his performance against Connecticut on Saturday afternoon may have been the best by a wide receiver in SU’s history.

Etta Tawo hauled in 12 passes against the Huskies for 270 yards and two touchdowns to lead SU (2-2, 0-1 ACC) to a 31-24 victory over UConn at Rentschler Field. The graduate transfer from Maryland now holds Syracuse’s single-game record for receiving yards.

The Syracuse Orange’s offense racked up more yards, first downs, and even had longer possession time than their opponent, the South Florida Bulls, on Saturday afternoon at the Carrier Dome. However, USF (3-0) beat Syracuse where it mattered, winning 45-20 off the strength of three touchdowns by senior wide receiver Rodney Adams.

Two second half goals lead Orange to victory over Boston College

The Syracuse Orange men’s soccer team continued their impressive run to open the season with a 2-0 victory over the Boston College Eagles on Friday night. With the win, this year’s team is now tied with the 1984 Orange squad for the best start to a season in school history.

Cardinals score 20 unanswered points in fourth quarter to pull away from the Orange

The Syracuse Orange football team’s chance to pull an upset quickly slipped away against the No.13 Louisville Cardinals on Friday night.

With a final score of 62-28, the Cardinals stay undefeated, while the Orange drop to 1-1 on the season and 0-1 in ACC play.

“We’re bruised, we’re not broken,” SU head coach Dino Babers said in his postgame press conference. “We’ll come back.”
