SU tops Panthers, 4-0, to advance to conference quarterfinals

The Syracuse men’s soccer team advanced to the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament with a 4-0 win over the Pittsburgh Panthers on Tuesday night, delivering a dominate offensive performance and setting up a rematch with No. 6 Clemson.

The game reflected the contrast in seasons, as No. 7 Syracuse finished the regular season 10-3-3 overall and 3-2-3 in conference, just missing out on a first round bye. Pittsburgh finished last in the ACC regular season standings with no conference wins and a 2-12-3 overall record.

The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team overcame an early deficit to beat Indiana University (PA), 83-65, in its first exhibition of the season on Tuesday night at the Carrier Dome.

Nobody will forget last year’s electrifying Final Four run. But, with guards Michael Gbinije and Trevor Cooney gone after graduating, fans got a glimpse of who the new leaders for SU will be.

The No. 6 Syracuse Orange men’s soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with the No. 2 Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Friday night, its last regular season game before the start of the ACC tournament next week.

The men's and women’s basketball teams arrived in style on Friday at the Carrier Dome, getting fans excited for their seasons at Orange Madness.

Orange legend Carmelo Anthony couldn’t make it, but prepared a video in advance sending his support. He introduced rapper Jadakiss, who pumped-up the crowd prior to introductions.

Head coach Jim Boeheim received a standing ovation for what will be his 41st season.

The Syracuse Orange football team hadn’t beaten a ranked opponent since 2012, and not many fans expected that to change against the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday at the Carrier Dome. But, in stunning fashion, the No. 17 Hokies (4-2, 2-1 ACC) fell to Syracuse (3-4, 1-2 ACC), 31-17.

Fans stormed the field following the victory, ecstatic their team pulled out an upset.

The Syracuse Orange men’s soccer team snapped its four-game winless streak Friday, topping No. 15 Virginia Tech, 1-0, at SU Soccer Stadium.

Syracuse moved to 9-3-1 while the Hokies fell to 9-3-2. Syracuse’s winless streak and a fall from third to 10th in the latest NCAA coach’s poll gave Friday’s win an extra level of importance.

Orange accumulates just 14 first downs in 28-9 loss to Demon Deacons.

On a chilly, wet night in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the Syracuse Orange football team took on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons with a mission—getting its first ACC win of the season. The mission was unsuccessful, however, as the Demon Deacons (5-1, 2-1 ACC) came out on top, 28-9.

The game started with a three-and-out for SU (2-4, 0-2 ACC) on its first drive. On the ensuing possession, Wake Forest fumbled a fourth down snap in its own end zone. The Demon Deacons fell on the ball for a safety, giving the Orange a 2-0 lead.
