Hurricanes top SU, 62-57, despite 22 points from White, at the Barclays Center.

In what some considered a must-win for the Syracuse men’s basketball team (18-14), Miami (21-10) seemingly locked up its spot in the NCAA Tournament with a 62-57 victory. Contrary, Syracuse loses once again in the ACC Tournament (0-3) and more importantly jeopardizes its tournament hopes come Sunday.

No. 12 SU scores 10 second half goals to beat No. 11 Cavaliers at the Carrier Dome.

This game had all the makings to be a blowout win for Virginia (4-2, 0-1 ACC). Syracuse entered halftime down four goals, and that deficit quickly grew. A Nate Solomon goal opening the half for Syracuse (3-1, 1-0 ACC) was answered with Virginia goals from Dox Aitken and Zed Williams (2 goals, 1 assist), and at the 11:06 mark in the third period, the Orange was trailing, 10-5.

Graduate transfer tallies 40 points on senior day as Orange top Yellow Jackets, 90-61.

For a few minutes, it looked like Georgia Tech (17-14, 8-10) was going to give Syracuse men’s basketball a taste of its own medicine. Syracuse had a 12-point lead at halftime – an advantage that was as large as 16 points with over a minute left in the first half. But, this time it seemed as if the Yellow Jackets would be the second half comeback team.

After a Ben Lammers layup, a Tadric Jackson made jumper, a 3-pointer from Quinton Stephens, and a layup from Josh Okogie, Georgia Tech cut the Syracuse lead to just three points, 38-35, with 17:40 left to play.

Ten players score for Orange in dominant win at the Carrier Dome

The Syracuse women’s lacrosse team (3-0, 1-0 in ACC) looked to carry momentum from last weekend’s doubleheader victories over Canisius and Binghamton and did that right away against UMass (1-3). The Orange scored early and pulled away for a 17-8 victory.

In their tenth overall meeting and first since 2006, the Orange jumped to a quick lead on a goal from captain Taylor Gait, her third of the season.

Despite two players tallying hat tricks, SU comes up short at the Carrier Dome.

Nick Mariano and Brendan Bomberry each tallied a hat trick for the No. 6 Syracuse men’s lacrosse team, but it was David Symmes’ goal that made the difference as Army (3-1) beat the Orange, 14-13 on Saturday afternoon.

“Great game for us, hard fought,” said Army head coach Joe Alberici. “There’s been plenty of games here in recent years that we’ve come up short … just feels good to get one.”

Four Orange players reach double-figures in 85-64 victory over the Demon Deacons.

The seniors stole the show scoring 65 points as the Syracuse women’s basketball team (19-9, 10-5 ACC) won 85-64 over Wake Forest (15-13, 6-9 in ACC) in its final home game of the season.

Four of the six seniors started the game and the scored the first 40 Syracuse points of the game until Gabrielle Cooper finished a put back to end the second quarter.

SU guard totals game-high 26 points, banks in game-winning 3-pointer as time expires

John Gillon hesitated a split second before dribbling up the court for Syracuse’s final possession against Duke on Wednesday night.

With the score tied at 75 and eight seconds remaining in regulation, Blue Devils guard Luke Kennard missed a jumper that would have given his team a late lead. Syracuse forward Tyler Lydon corralled the rebound and kicked the ball out to guard Tyus Battle, who swung it cross court to Gillon.

It’s 8:50 a.m. on a Tuesday. I don’t have class until 11:00 this morning, but I’m groggily stumbling down the steps of Gate E at the Carrier Dome. I glance up at the Boeheimburg sign, take the last few steps, and enter my group’s tent.

To have the best seats possible for Syracuse vs. Duke, students camp at the Carrier Dome. Tents, blankets, and sleeping bags are all essentials. Students form groups of four and at least one person must be in the group’s tent at all times.

Despite record attendance of 11,021, Fighting Irish tops SU at the Carrier Dome, 85-80.

Orange Syracuse t-shirts and banners filled the Carrier Dome and the arena rumbled in an infectious energy of excitement that was clearly caught by the No. 21 SU women’s basketball team Sunday night.

An all-time record attendance of 11,021 showed up and was a catalyst of energy that kept the Orange battling throughout the contest. But after leading through three quarters, SU (18-9, 9-5 ACC) fell to No. 7 Notre Dame, 85-80.

Syracuse midfielder Nick Mariano scored with 1.6 seconds left to give the No. 6 Syracuse men’s lacrosse team a 10-9 victory over No. 12 Albany on Saturday at the Carrier Dome.
