Pairing the EDM artist and rapper provided plenty of audio ammunition Friday at the annual year-end concert.

After a morning of eating, drinking and celebrating the end of the school semester at MayFest, Syracuse University students headed to the Carrier Dome for a night with 2 Chainz and Zedd that surely did not disappoint.

DJ Brazzabelle opened the show with her signature house mixes that got the crowd off its feet and swaying back and forth. The energy could be felt throughout the Dome as audience members screamed in anticipation of 2 Chainz and Zedd.

Joywave, Pierce Fulton and A$AP Ferg bring music and excitement to this year's installment of SU's year-end extravaganza.

Amid the frolicking hippies and laid-back hipsters, the highly anticipated party of the year hosted thousands of students and was a feel-good time for most - even if they can’t remember it.

On the cusp of its 40th anniversary, the Syracuse Opera's concert performance of the classic American opera brings communal jubilation and joy.

Opera originating on American soil is a rare breed. With the theaters saturated with the tradition of show tunes, vaudeville and musical theater, the European high art of opera has struggled to gain a popular foothold with both artists and audiences.

But between the beginning of the early 20th century and the end of World War II, the genre lines between popular stage entertainment (theater, vaudeville, musicals and opera) were never more ambiguous and interchangeable.

Review: Nearing the 70 year anniversary of its premiere, Tennessee Williams' play is still just as potent and powerful in this regional production.

Life, memory, relationships. They can all be as delicate as glass, more difficult to maintain than to break.

Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie, beautifully performed at Syracuse Stage, explores the fragility of the Southern Wingfield family that has already suffered through one of its parts breaking off.

Star of FOX's 'New Girl' visits SU, gives Q&A with students.

When asked to speak at SU, New Girl’s Max Greenfield said he would much rather come to accept his honorary degree and serve as this year’s commencement speaker.

“You guys go to the cool school,” he said Tuesday night. “Go ‘Cuse! Carmelo Anthony foreva!”

No, Greenfield didn’t go to SU, but his witty, woman-loving, Jewish-professing character, Schmidt did, and it was Schmidt who showed up to deliver a commencement-styled talk filled with advice, jokes and even a little Judaism on Tuesday night.

Event coverage of the concert featuring the award-winning rapper along with openers Elle Varner and Bas at SU.

It was a Cole World. We were all just living in it.

The Thrillin’ Theta Xi chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., brought J. Cole to campus Friday as part of their “Friday Night Lights: Culture for Service Benefit Concert.” Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Elle Varner and Bas, a member of Cole’s Dreamville record label, opened the show.

Review: The first Bandersnatch Concert show of the semester rocked an energetic Syracuse University crowd ready for Spring Break.

If you closed your eyes Wednesday in the Schine Underground, you definitely felt like Spring Break had come early — somewhere between Coachella and a desert oasis.

Unfortunately, the carefree, billow-in-the-breeze feelings didn’t start until an hour of tirelessly waiting for sound check for the Bandersnatch concert series show to be completed.

The sold-out concert began with electronic duo ASTR, pronounced like the beginning of asteroid. The couple is comprised of New York natives Zoe Silverman on vocals and Adam Pallin on electronic percussion.

In the last part of a three part series, our resident film buffs Max O'Connell and Nick Schmiedicker talk about who will take home the top prize tonight at the Oscars.

It’s that time of the year again, where Hollywood gathers to give itself a good ol’ pat on the back for a job well done, regardless of whether or not they’re really honoring films or performances that will stand as the most memorable of 2013.
