University Union kicked off its Bandersnatch concert series with alternative rock bands Tribe Society and X Ambassadors on Oct. 7.

On Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m., a small but mighty crowd waited to enter Schine Underground for the first Bandersnatch concert of the year. University Union kicked off this series with X Ambassadors and their opening act, Tribe Society.

OFWGKTA band The Internet played its first Syracuse show to a packed house at Funk 'N Waffles downtown, and the group has hopes to return.

At 7:15 Sunday night, The crowd bum-rushed the 250-person venue of Funk ‘N Waffles in downtown Syracuse. Some concert-goers had been waiting as early as 5 p.m. to get a quality view at The Internet's Sept. 27 show, which is a part of its Ego Death tour.

“I missed them in Manhattan because I went to see Jonny Craig,” said Yvette McCloud, a Verizon T-1 tech coming all the way from the Bronx, New York, who was among the early arrivals. “They were playing across town [the same night].”

Syracuse locals, the Spring Street Family Band, rocks central New York venues on its way up.

It's about 10:45 p.m on Friday night at the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Rochester, New York, and people are having a hard time hearing over the music. The manager of the restaurant goes to the stage and tells the band to keep it down. For two songs, they do.

After the second song, bassist Dennis Lingel calls for a huddle.

“If we don't play louder, people are going to think we f------ suck,” Lingel said.

Cornell students put down their homework to turn up for the last event in a weekend-long celebration.

A group of boys, still dressed in Cornell apparel and decorated with red face paint from the afternoon football game, sat in a circle playing cards on the brick sidewalk outside of Barton Hall at Cornell University. Behind them, a growing number of students lined up, all hoping for the chance to snag a ticket when the concert doors opened at 7 p.m.

Though the weather was undesirable, both performers and students jammed through for an unforgettable Sunday Funday at Juice Jam 2015.

Port-o-potties lined up: check. Temperature super chilly (oh, you mean a super freezing 61 degrees?) Check. Dark gray clouds in the sky, complimented with a drizzle here and there? Check, check.

Yes, the atmosphere came off a little sad and droopy before the 11th annual Juice Jam show Sunday. But that didn’t stop the event, nor mood of the students getting hyped for the acts of SNBRN, BØRNS, Matt and Kim, iLoveMakonnen, Oliver Heldens and Big Sean.

The Lakeview Amphitheater joined other open-air venues that dot Route 90 as one of the premier concert spots when Miranda Lambert took the stage and around 10,000 fans jumped and threw their hands in the air.

50 Cent, G-Unit, Rae Sremmurd and Kygo deliver a night of high-energy throwback music to a sold-out crowd at Syracuse University's annual Block Party concert at the Carrier Dome.

Rae Sremmurd kicked off the annual end-of-the-school-year celebration, Block Party, at the Carrier Dome on Friday night. The event was hosted by Syracuse University’s programming board, University Union. The Atlanta-based hip-hop duo opened with “No Type.” It went on to perform “No Flex Zone,” a single that reached No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

It's that time of the year again for University Union's Block Party, and headlining the end-of-the-year concert on Friday, April 24, is 50 Cent with co-headliners G-Unit and Kygo.

50 Cent, one of the most successful rappers in the past decade, has sold more than 22 million albums worldwide and received 13 Grammy nominations during his career.
