Several events will be held on campus this week to remember the 35 SU students killed in the 1988 Pan Am Flight 103 attack.

This week, the Syracuse University community will participate in Remembrance Week. Many students have probably noticed the renovations on the Remembrance Wall in front of Hall of Languages have been completed.

But, what exactly is Remembrance Week?

On Dec. 21, 1988, 35 SU students returning home from study abroad programs were killed in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. The plane held 270 passengers. The university started Remembrance Week to honor those students that died.

Dhaif, the winner of the 2012 Tully Award for Free Speech, accepted her award and spoke in the Hergenhan Auditorium Monday night.

When Lamees Dhaif’s niece tells her she wants people to be anxious to read her every word just like her aunt, Dhaif is often unsure about how to respond.

“Do I tell her a word could cost her her life?” Dhaif, a Bahraini journliast, asked the audience in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium Monday night. “Or should I tell her that a word can distance her from everyone she loves and everything she loves?”

Syracuse University's 11th chancellor announces she will leave once her current contract expires.

In an email sent to SU students and faculty on Friday morning, Chancellor Nancy Cantor announced her exit from Syracuse University at the end of her contract, which expires in June 2014. The Board of Trustees were informed of her decision earlier in the morning, according to her open letter to the SU community.

The journalist elaborated on his research and novel about President Barack Obama's administration.

By the time President Barack Obama won a Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, he had already authorized twice as many drone attacks as George W. Bush’s administration, said Daniel Klaidman, veteran correspondent for Newsweek and The Daily Beast.

Klaidman, author of "Kill or Capture: The War on Terror and the Soul of the Obama Presidency," spoke in the Miron Special Events Room of Newhouse I Wednesday afternoon.

At least three fans go to hospital after incident during Dada Life performance.

An estimated six to eight concertgoers were injured by a falling ceiling tile during Dada Life’s Westcott Theater performance early this morning.

The ceiling tile came loose and fell on part of the crowd towards the end of the electro-house duo’s set. At least three injured attendees arrived at Upstate University Hospital, where they were treated and released.

On Monday, Kathie Lee and Hoda's camera crew visited SU, which has been named a finalist in the "Kathie Lee and Hoda Go Back to College Challenge."

A strong love for Syracuse and morning wine collided as camera crews for The Today Show filmed live on campus Monday morning. Syracuse University was named a finalist for the "Kathie Lee and Hoda Go Back to College Challenge" and cameras caught the reaction of enthusiastic students decked out in orange.

Boston Globe reporter Michael Kranish spoke in Maxwell Auditorium about his latest book, "The Real Romney."

Thirty-six years ago, Michael Kranish was a political science and journalism major at Syracuse University with an ambition to become a political reporter.

He stood in the same auditorium where he took an introductory American government class in 1976. Only this time, he was the lecturer.

University Union Performing Arts will host “An Evening with Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson” on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at the Goldstein Auditorium. The LGBT Resource Center and the Television-Radio-Film Department of the S.I.

World-renowned artists such as David Crosby, A.R. Rahman, Nelly Furtado and more slated to perform at concert in Carrier Dome. Advance Student tickets go on-sale Friday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m.

The artist lineup and Advance Student and general public on-sale ticket dates have been announced for “Common Ground for Peace”, a two-day forum led by the spiritual leader of Tibet, His Holiness the Dalai Lama.  Running Oct. 8-9, the event schedule will include academic panel discussions for students and faculty, a public talk by the Dalai Lama and a festival-style music event dubbed the One World Concert.
