Rock band The 1975, alt-pop duo Oh Wonder to play Rock the Dome

University Union's winter concert will return to the Carrier Dome on Nov. 4 after going on hiatus in 2013.

After disappearing from University Union’s concert calendar for several years, Rock the Dome will return this November with rock band The 1975 and alt-pop duo Oh Wonder.

The concert will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, in the Carrier Dome, UU officials announced Sunday night. In addition to The 1975 and Oh Wonder performing, rapper 070 Shake will open the show.

Tickets for the concert go on sale at noon Monday, and online pre-sale for full-time Syracuse University and SUNY ESF students runs through 11:45 p.m. Wednesday at ticketmaster.com.

The public sale will start at noon Thursday. The student price is $25 for general admission dance floor access seats, and $20 for first level general admission and second level reserved seating. Each student may order a maximum of two tickets at these special student prices. The general public price is $40.

Rock the Dome debuted in 2012 with a concert from co-headlining rappers Ludacris and Rick Ross, but then failed to return the following year.

Now it returns with English band The 1975, composed of school friends Matthew Healy, Adam Hann, George Daniel and Ross MacDonald, formed in 2002. Ten years later, they released their first EP, Facedown.

Oh Wonder is a London-based alt-pop duo consisting of Josephine Vander Gucht and Anthony West. Their eponymous debut album was released in September 2015 and met with critical acclaim.

070 Shake is a rising rapper hailing from North Bergen, New Jersey. She has been blowing up the blogosphere with notable tracks like “Thru The Speakers,” “Make It There” and “No Enemies.” A member of rap collective 070, 070 Shake has been featured on Drake’s OVOSound Radio on Beats 1.

Students ordering Rock the Dome tickets online need to enter their 9-digit student ID number after clicking "Got an Offer Code?" to start the order process. All general admission tickets must be picked up by the student with the SU or ESF ID used to place the order. Pick-up for these tickets will run Wednesday, Oct. 26, through Friday, Oct. 28, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. just inside Gate N of the Carrier Dome.
