Less-than-favorable weather didnt keep fans from the soaking up live music, comedy shows and gallery exhibits at the Solid Sound Festival this past weekend.
For the second year in a row, the indie rock band Wilco has curated the festival on the grounds of the MASS MoCA museum in North Adams, Mass., featuring acts such as the Levon Helm Band and Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, plus comedians, photo exhibits and family-friend workshops.
This year, however, festivalgoers had to endure persistent rain and wade through some flooding to catch performances in the courtyards of the contemporary art museum.
Hidden under umbrellas and ponchos thousands of fans caught the host act Wilco, which performed twice to close each day of music and art.
Other events throughout the weekend included a photo exhibition by Project Impossible, workshops for kids and comedy skits by John Hodgman and Wyatt Cenac of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Also, current exhibits and galleries on display at MASS MoCA were available to ticketholders.
