Men's cross country takes first place, women place second at Dartmouth Invitational

Syracuse cross country continues to succeed in their inaugural ACC season.

After both cross country teams took first place at the Harry Lang Invitational last weekend, the teams continued their strong starts at the Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The men took first place at the event, with redshirt freshman MJ Erb and redshirt senior Griff Graves finishing second and fourth in the 8k run, respectively. All seven of Syracuse’s point-scoring runners finished within the top 12. Dartmouth College’s Will Geoghegan finished first among the point-scoring runners with a time of 23:57.62.

On the women’s side, Syracuse finished second, losing to Georgetown University by eight points. Junior Jesse Peterson was the top runner for Syracuse, finishing third with a time of 21:04.43 in the 6k run. Freshman Margo Malone and sophomore Brittany Nerud finished seventh and eighth, respectively.

The next meet for the teams will be on Sept. 27 at the Boston Inter-Regional meet.
