Billy Holbert


About Me: 

Billy Holbert is a graduate student at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in the broadcast and digital journalism program.  He received a B.A. in communication studies and a minor in film from the University of Michigan in 2010.  While at Michigan, Billy was an active member of the student television station WOLV-TV, becoming the general manager during his senior year.  He has reported on a variety of topics and has interviewed individuals ranging from Holocaust survivors, recording artists including Common and Janelle Monae, to sports athletes such as Jake Long, the first pick of the 2008 NFL draft.  Billy has also worked with Palestra.Net and ESPN U as a reporter covering campus news.  Past experiences include interning at WSBT-TV in South Bend, Indiana and at Pace News LTD, an independent documentary news organization in London, U.K.  Billy's interests include traveling, fishing, kayaking and spending time with friends and family.
