Srimathi Sridhar

About Me:

An east coaster from Chevy Chase, Maryland, Srimathi is an avid pop culture and television enthusiast. She checks People, US Weekly and E! Online frequently throughout the day to get her fill of news in the entertainment world.

When she isn’t reading about the lives of celebrities or TV shows, she writes about them on her blog. Srimathi is a 2011 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Miami University of Ohio with degrees in Journalism and English Literature.

Currently, Srimathi is getting her Masters from Syracuse University in the Arts Journalism program, specializing in Popular Culture and Television. Her expected graduation date is May 2012.

Srimathi previously interned with "The Hindu," one of India's leading national newspapers, in Chennai, India for six weeks during the summer of 2009. She interned with the News Reporting desk, Design and Layout department, and "The Next Generation" (NxG), a supplement to "The Hindu." There, she wrote and published a book review, food review, feature on the differences in American and Indian culture, and an article on drug usage and D.A.R.E in the United States for drug awareness week.

She was born in Chennai, India, and lived in Singapore for four years before finally moving to the States in 1995. With the exception of summer 2011, she has been to Chennai every summer and considers herself a traveler since birth. Srimathi speaks Tamil fluently, and is conversant in French.
