Shumin Lai

Shumin Lai is a contribor to Thenewshouse.com. She is a senior magazine journalism major at the S.I.Newhouse School of Public Communications with 3.8 GPA. She also minors in sociology at Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. She also interned at CCTV News channel in China, which enhanced her reporting and editing skills. Apart from writing and editing, she enjoys photography and documentary. Therefore, she tries to combine her writing and editing skills with multimedia storytelling techniques in the future career. Now, she is learning web journalism and virtual reality storytelling skills, which are promising in the field of global communications. Additionally, she hopes to further study data journalism or documentary if possible.
