Jessica is a graduate student in the Goldring Arts Journalism Program in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, and her focus is on popular music.
She earned a B.A. in journalism with a minor in communications at Northern Illinois University in May 2013. She worked as an arts and entertainment reporter, editor, copy editor and videographer at NIU's daily student-run newspaper, the Northern Star. She served as the publicity intern at NIU's School of Theatre and Dance, and she worked as a news intern at Northern Public Radio WNIJ (NPR affiliate station).
Although her specialty is popular music, she has a deep love for many forms of art and entertainment, including theater, visual art, dance, classical music and film.
