Dan Poorman

Dan Poorman is a graduate student in the Goldring Arts Journalism Program at Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. He focuses much of his academic and professional work on film and popular culture, with particular interests in horror cinema and local novelties and subcultures. When he isn't reporting for The NewsHouse, Dan is a contributing writer in Entertainment and Living for Syracuse Media Group.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from SUNY Purchase. His fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in Lockjaw Magazine, HelloHorror and Breadcrumbs Mag, among other journals. In his spare time, he co-edits The Taste Basket, a blog featuring essays, reviews, interviews, podcasts and videos surrounding "art, pop culture, and spooky junk" from a diverse pool of contributors with backgrounds in film, music, comedy and more. 

Dan resides in Marcellus, New York.
