Annabel Hine

Annabel is a senior in the magazine journalism program at the S.I. Newhouse School of public communications. A non-traditional student, raised in Syracuse, Annabel uncovered her passion for storytelling through blogging about motherhood and child development during the years she spent running Mama Bear's Family Daycare, a small business she founded when her oldest son was an infant.

A research paper Annabel completed during her sophomore year about the history and industry placement of WIRED Magazine is currently used by WIRED's advertising department as a primer to orient new agents to the publication.

A sociology minor at the Maxwell School, Annabel aims to shine a light on race, class, and gender issues on a local level. Annabel is also interested in bringing her passion for exploring the hidden gems of Central New York to the TheNewsHouse.com community.
