It took an impromptu onstage battle between the members of Parachute featuring some intense guitar riffs to finally get some laughs and whoops from the lukewarm student crowd at the national act's show Wednesday in the Schine Underground.

There's more to this all-male a cappella group than just singing.  

Orange Appeal's musical bond goes deeper than their hobby, which was showcased during their April Fools’ Invitational in the Schine Underground last Thursday.  The invitational also featured the women’s a cappella group, Main Squeeze.

A crowd of about 200 braved the cold and rain and descended upon the Schine Underground Tuesday night for the chance to enjoy the musical stylings of headliner Miike Snow and opening act Theophilus London, the musical guests for 2010’s first Bandersnatch Music Series concert.

Millions of people have watched YouTube celeb Bo Burnham perform his self-accompanied, self-deprecating humorous tunes. The musical comedian had a more intimate audience Friday night when about 500 saw his routine live in Syracuse.

Witnessing "Wicked" From a New Point of View

I had the opportunity to see the musical "Wicked" from the pit orchestra and learned about more than the music, but also how hard life on the road can be.

Seeing Wicked from the skewed view of the pit orchestra was like losing one of my five senses. While some senses were hindered, others were enhanced, making the experience one of heightened awareness and appreciation.

Music and money for Haiti

Thirteen bands play a benefit concert at Funk 'N Waffles, helping to raise $1,000 for Haiti relief.

The Haiti Benefit Relief Concert brought students and music together Friday to raise money for the earthquake victims of Haiti. The concert was held at Funk ‘N Waffles, where 13 artists performed.

That's how Brandon Linn envisions a campus scene that's relatively new, even to him.

The writing program senior is one of a growing number of students who, like many, sits at a computer for long hours working on any given night. Linn’s material, though, doesn’t get presented in front of any class.
