Facing a 20-point deficit at halftime, Ryan Nassib connected with Alec Lemon to give Orange football a one-point victory on the road.

What Happened: Syracuse overcame a 20-point halftime deficit and edged South Florida 37-36 with a one-yard touchdown pass caught by Alec Lemon with just three seconds left in the game. Lemon’s touchdown capped the final drive where the Orange marched 75 yards in under two minutes. SU outscored USF 34-13 in the second half as Nassib connected on four touchdown passes.

On senior day, Orange field hockey kept their home winning streak alive with strong performances by their seniors.

In their biggest game of the year, the No. 3 Syracuse Orange field hockey team came out swinging.

On senior day, the last game of the regular season, the Orange defeated rival No. 4 Uconn 3-2 in a battle for the regular season Big East crown.

Honorees Liz McInerney and Kelsey Millman each scored as the Orange toughed out another tight match with the Huskies, who have proven to be their toughest Big East opponent over the last four years.

SU's freshmen lead the way as the women's field hockey team doubles up Boston College, improving their record to 15-1

The No. 3 Syracuse Orange field hockey team is now the proud owner of a three-game win streak after Sunday's victory over No. 16 Boston College.

Freshman Gillian Pinder had two goals and two assists and freshman Emma Russell added two goals of her own en route to a 4-2 Orange (15-1) victory over visiting Boston College (9-8).

Pinder, starting in place of the ill Leonie Geyer at midfield, took full advantage of her starting opportunity, increasing her season totals to seven goals and six assists.

A strong running game and a stingy defense propel SU to a blowout victory over UConn.

In arguably the team’s strongest performance of the season, the Orange used a balanced offensive attack and constant defensive pressure on the opposing quarterback to blow out UConn, 40-10.

After a close first quarter, Syracuse scored 27 unanswered points and never looked back, taking firm control of the Big East affair.

Failure to take advantage of their offensive chances, Orange football falls to Rutgers 23-15 in Piscataway.

There wasn’t too much positive to take out of Saturday afternoon’s 23-15 loss to No. 20 Rutgers Scarlet Knights (6-0). Turnovers were the killer for Syracuse Orange (2-4). Rutgers forced a total of five turnovers, three of which came at the hands of quarterback Ryan Nassib. 

The Orange played well during the first half of the game. After Rutgers took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter, the Orange responded in the second with a three-yard touchdown run by Adonis Ameen-Moore.

Despite the loss of four key players, Orange men's basketball look to be a more complete team with a stingy defense and an explosive offense.

Although the SU men's basketball team has a vastly different look than last year, the team appears ready to perform at a high level for their last year in the Big East conference.

With a crop of new young talent and seasoned veterans, the SU women's basketball teams sets sights on reaching the NCAA tournament

The Syracuse Orange women’s basketball team took the first step of their season and participated in media day at the Carmelo K. Anthony Basketball Center.

This team could prove to be the perfect blend of young and old, freshmen playing styles mixed with the upperclassmen experience. The chemistry and blend is what brings the whole thing together, creating what could be a very threating team.

After a 12-game win streak to start the season, the Orange watched their dreams of an undefeated fall by the wayside with a 2-1 loss to UMass.

The nation's No. 1-ranked Syracuse Orange field hockey team's undefeated streak has come an end.

In Thursday afternoon's match-up at UMass Amherst, the Orange (12-1) found the short end of the stick for the first time since last fall. Their 2-1 loss to the Minutewomen was only the second time the Orange scored less than two goals, the first being against the No. 2 North Carolina Tar Heels in the third game of the season.

Despite scoring within the first three minutes of the game, the Orange were unable to hold the lead as they drop their second Big East conference game.

The Syracuse University men’s soccer team (9-4-0, 2-2-0 Big East) lost 2-1 to the Louisville Cardinals (7-4-0, 3-1-0 Big East) Saturday at the SU Soccer Stadium in front of a crowd of 1652.

Despite the cold weather, the Orange came out of the gates on fire as freshman midfielder Jordan Vale netted his sixth goal of the season after 2 minutes, 35 seconds of play. Vale headed the ball into the far post after a Jordan Murrell corner.

Coming off a bye week, the Orange made key defensive plays to thwart a late comeback by the Panthers

Syracuse was spearheaded by a strong defensive effort including a fumble recovery turned 52-yard touchdown by sophomore Dyshawn Davis to defeat Pittsburgh 14-13 in its Big East opener.
