SU surrenders four goals in fourth ACC defeat this season.

No. 10 Syracuse (10-4, 1-4 Atlantic Coast) fell to ACC rival and No. 13-ranked Wake Forest (10-5, 3-2 Atlantic Coast) on Saturday 4-2, marking the first loss in five games for the Orange. 

Freshman midfielder Lieke Visser and Junior forward Emma Russell tallied the two SU goals.

A pair of defensive touchdowns propels SU to its first conference victory.

More than 25,000 fans were sprinkled in the stands on a sunny afternoon at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem, N.C., to see two Atlantic Coast Conference teams battle for their first conference victory this season. 

Instead, they witnessed a Syracuse blowout. 

The Orange (3-4) scored two defensive touchdowns and piled up 199 rushing yards to rout Wake Forest, 30-7.

Fouls and offensive inefficiency plague the Orange in its second defeat.

In a game that needed overtime to yield a victor, Syracuse fell 2-1 to Atlantic Coast Conference rival Louisville Friday night, snapping an eight-game win streak.

The Orange (12-2-0, 4-2-0 ACC) boasts one of the premier back lines in the nation, having allowed only three goals coming into the contest. Friday, however, marked the first the time team yielded more than two goals this year.

SU forced five turnovers, but mustered only 15 points at MetLife Stadium on Saturday evening.

Through the first quarter, Syracuse matched up with Notre Dame as well as any team had during the 2014 season.

Unfortunately for the Orange, there was still 45 minutes of play. 

On a humid Saturday night in front of 76,802 fans, the largest crowd ever for a college football game at MetLife Stadium, the Orange sputtered midway through its contest with the No. 8 Fighting Irish and fell 31-15.

SU faces the defending national champion Saturday night.

Although undefeated through four games, Syracuse still believes it has something to prove.

Especially with the defending NCAA champion coming to town.

With Notre Dame scheduled to invade SU Soccer Stadium on Saturday, the Orange is hoping to open its second Atlantic Coast Conference slate with a statement victory.

"They're a big team coming in here, and they're going to be a big test for us overall," senior defender Chris Makowski said. "We have to show them and the ACC that we are a good team, and we mean business."

Orange punter receives award, while quarterback avoids further punishment.

Riley Dixon played the role of hero against Villanova on Friday night, and today the Atlantic Coast Conference recognized him for his efforts.

The ACC named the Syracuse punter/placeholder its Co-Specialist of the Week on Tuesday afternoon, along with Louisville's Corvin Lamb.

Syracuse University officially installed its 12th president in a day full of activities and orange spirit.

Syracuse University officially gained a new leader earlier today when Dr. Kent Syverud was inaugurated as the university’s 12th Chancellor.

The day was jam-packed with activities, beginning with a 1.2-mile run around campus. 500 students, faculty and staff joined Syverud in his morning run. The festivities included an academic symposium, the Fast Forward competition showcase and a campus celebration.

Coach Jim Boeheim credited the win over the ACC foe to the Orange’s nonstop effort on defense.

When it came to the ACC, the Orange knew it would have to compete with plenty of new faces. But the big question was how it would fare against the conference’s blue blood programs.

On Saturday, the No. 2 Syracuse (16-0, 3-0) passed the first of those tests with authority, defeating North Carolina (10-6,0-3) 57-45.

With a 72-68 victory over Detroit Monday night, the No. 3 Orange improve to 10-0 on the season, and head Coach Jim Boeheim became the third all-time winningest coach in NCAA men's Div. 1 history with his 900th career win.

There are heroes, and there are legends. Jim Boeheim is a legend.

After Monday night's 72-68 victory over the University of Detroit Titans (6-5), Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim reached the pinnacle of 900 wins, a feat only accomplished by two other Division 1 men's basketball coaches: Bob Knight and Mike Krzyzewski. However, Boeheim is the first to do it while coaching at only one school.

James Southerland provided strong bench play to help propel the Orange past the Golden Griffins to remain undefeated on the year.

After a first half that saw the Orange trailing with less than a minute left to play, the Syracuse Orange men's basketball team turned it around in the second half, scoring 50 points en route to an 85-61 victory over Canisius.
