Sophomore forward Stephanie Grossi's hat-trick headed a revenge-fueled Orange performance Wednesday night at the Tennity Ice Pavilion.

The Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers beat the Orange last March in the second game of the College Hockey America tournament, eliminating Syracuse from the playoffs. Upperclassmen such as sophomore Stephanie Grossi circled Wednesday's game on her calendar, and made the most of the opportunity for revenge.

After losing to Wake Forest in last season's ACC Championship, Syracuse came to the field Saturday afternoon with only one thing on mind: Victory.

“Bad blood” was the theme of Saturday's field hockey match between No. 1 Syracuse and No. 6 Wake Forest. It was the first time the teams faced off since Wake Forest defeated Syracuse last year in the ACC Championship. Syracuse came to the field with a mission: to dominate and defeat Wake Forest. Revenge was sweet for the juiced up Orange when they beat Wake Forest 6-0.

Syracuse men's soccer head coach Ian McIntyre: "Every game ends in 90 minutes, but to conceive in the final minute is a tough one."

Up to the final minute of the game between the Clemson Tigers and Syracuse Orange, it was equal. The Orange held tempo for most of the first half but were unable to score, and by the second, the No. 4 Tigers (11-1-2, 4-1-1 ACC) crept back in.

Maybe it was rust, but the Golden Knights simply outplayed the Orange.

Senior goaltender Jenn Gilligan was a brick wall in net, stopping 34 of 37 shots tonight in the season opener against No. 5 Clarkson, but that wasn't enough as Syracuse dropped to 0-1-0 following a 3-1 defeat.

"I thought we did a good job", said Gilligan after being asked about how the team played in front of her. "[Clarkson] is a good team and they came at us really hard, so for us to limit secondhand opportunities the way we did, I thought my team did a great job."

The Tigers' running-back and Heisman hopeful Leonard Fournette was the difference maker.

Marshall Street and the Campus Quad were abuzz for college football Saturday. Joining the usual sea of orange was a fleet of purple and gold as thousands of LSU fans made the long trip from Baton Rouge cheer on their Bayou Bengals. You could hear chants of “Let’s Go Orange” or “Geaux Tigers” as the campus transformed into a festival like atmosphere as each contingent huddled together before making their way into the Carrier Dome.

Central Michigan overcame a 14-point second-half deficit but could only muster a field goal in overtime before allowing Syracuse's game-winning touchdown.

Syracuse blew a 14-point lead in Saturday afternoon’s game against Central Michigan, and after not reaching first down in all of the second half, managed to score a touchdown in overtime to improve to 3-0 on the season. It’s the best start for the Orange since 1991, when they finished 10-2 under coach Pasqualoni. Following the 30-27 victory, head coach Scott Shafer had nothing but adulation for his team.

Freshman quarterback Eric Dungey did just enough to help his team, but it was the Orange defense that stood out.

On Saturday afternoon, the Carrier Dome was the place to be as the Syracuse Orange and Wake Forest Demon Deacons squared off. Both teams were fresh off impressive victories in their season opener, but, in the end, it was the home team who left feeling good about the outcome and overcoming a lackluster first-half to corral a 30-17 victory.

The first ACC match of the season concluded as a 1-1 tie with the Louisville Cardinals.

An evenly played match between the Syracuse Orange and Louisville Cardinals ended after double overtime in a 1-1 draw. Both ACC (3-1-1, 0-0-1 ACC) teams scored in the first half of a brisk Friday night that was unable to produce a victor, perhaps rightfully so.

"It was two honest teams that canceled each other out," Syracuse Head Coach Ian McIntyre said. "A fair result."

Syracuse football’s 47-0 win over Rhode Island is marred by the Achilles injury of senior quarterback Terrel Hunt.

The Syracuse football team opened the 2015 season with a convincing 47-0 victory over the Rhode Island Rams. The win didn’t come without its setbacks, though, as senior quarterback and team captain Terrel Hunt left the game with an achilles injury.
