SU voices speak out on International Women's Day

Commentary: A pair of visual journalists produced this video in which Newhouse School students discuss what it means to be a woman.

International Women's Day celebrates the accomplishments and struggles women had to go through in history to give women today what they have. This year's theme is Pledge for Parity.

I was inspired to do this project because as a Polish American, my mother, who is an immigrant, is a living example of overcoming struggle and hardships to create a better life.

My colleague Melissa Scott and I invited Syracuse University students to share what being a women means to them.

Every women has potential and power to do anything and be anything they want.
