Students return to campus

Orientation is over and classes have started at Syracuse University.

It was a lonely summer for the Syracuse University quad, but now that classes have rolled around, the familiar sight of students walking across campus in their best outifts is back.

A lot happened in Syracuse while the students were away, but they didn't miss a beat, picking up where they left off in the spring.

The University welcomed 3,800 first-year and transfer students with a host of Orientation events. The new students were exposed to everything from a Carrier Dome experience at "Home to the Dome", to the downtown cuisine at "Feel the Pulse of Syracuse."

The upcoming semester brings a variety of different events for students. The first football game of the season on September 1st pits the Orange up against the Northwestern Wildcats. The next weekend, University Union's Juice Jam concert features DJ Calvin Harris and rap artist Childish Gambino. And in October, the University is hosting the Dalai Lama for the "Common Ground for Peace" forum and concert.
