On Monday, Coach Dino Babers became the 30th football coach in Syracuse history when he was introduced at a press conference by SU athletics director, Mark Coyle.
While former Coach Scott Shaffer was known as a "defensive minded" coach, Babers brings a resume which focuses on a hurry-up offense. He led Bowling Green to a MAC Championship this season, and was 36-17 all time as the head coach at Bowling Green and Eastern Illinois.
Babers is excited to bring his winning mentality to such a storied program.
"Why Syracuse … Why not Syracuse? The tradition here is unbelievable. We're talking about 44." Babers said. "And the fan support, we need to give them what they deserve and that is what I came here to do."
With day one in the books, Babers will now get to work.
