Located in the alley way of the Marshall Street Mall, Funk N’ Waffles provides a getaway from the hustle and bustle of college life.  With Belgian waffles ranging from the classic blueberry to fried chicken waffles, you can get just about anything put on top of your favorite breakfast meal.  Not in the mood for waffles?  They serve grilled Panini sandwiches and smoothies as well.

The comfortable furniture and warm colored walls make you feel right at home while you enjoy a cup of coffee and listen to music.  Funk N’ Waffles has live music three to seven days a week bringing in a variety of musicians.

When to Go:  Funk N’ Waffles is open Monday through Sunday 9am to 4pm, and Wednesdays from 9am to noon.  On days when there is live music, the resteraunt closes at noon.  Bottom Line: Whether you go for great live music or breakfast in the morning, the people there are welcoming and fun.

Blue Plate Special: For less than $4 you can get a classic Buttermilk waffle, which is hard to beat!  Sandwiches are under $5, and a large coffee is only $2. They also have dessert waffles to satisfy your sweet tooth.  Bottom Line:  Get a classic breakfast, or spice it up with some pulled pork waffles. Funk has it all!

The Scene:  College students and professionals can relax at Funk N’ Waffles.  The atmosphere makes you feel as if you are hanging out in your living room at home.  At nighttime, the music cranks up and the college students pour in. Bottom Line:  Whether you want to hang during the day, or jam at night, Funk lets you do both.

Crew:  The servers are funky and chill.  They are laid back, but get you your food in a timely manner.  Bottom Line: Great service, great place.

The Crowd:  During the day, the crowd ranges in age and everyone relaxes.  For the live music at night, the crowd turns into college kids.  Bottom Line: Even your kid sister could come hang out.

The Deets:  With a Jersey Shore waffle on the menu, you cannot get a funkier waffle.  You can spend less than $10 for a waffle and coffee, while listening to good music and relaxing.  Bottom Line: It’s Funky!
