The Haiti Benefit Relief Concert brought students and music together Friday to raise money for the earthquake victims of Haiti. The concert was held at Funk ‘N Waffles [11], where 13 artists [12] performed.
Approximately 150 attended the benefit, which raised $1,000, said Jonathan Groffman, a sophomore bandier major and co-director of the University Union’s Artists on the Brink Concert series, which co-sponsored the event. All proceeds will be donated to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund [13].
Comedian Davis Haynes hosted the event. The musical acts included Drink Up Buttercup, Stephen Babcock, Keith Smith, Liz Lewis with Lucas Sacks and New Relic, of SUNY Courtland.
The event was co-sponsored by Play It By Ear, a non-profit, arts advocacy organization, and Artists on the Brink.
The Westcott will also host a Haiti benefit show [14] Sunday.
