Diplo's show on Saturday was the most anticipated event [10] on campus up to this point in the year. So when the DJ actively engaged [11] our fondness for social media throughout his night in addition to providing what seemed to be a highly regarded set, it all lived up to the hype.
University Union [13] certainly got the crowd they hoped [14]. Opening act Rye Rye (above) didn't generate the type of buzz that the headliner did, but after Diplo was done, those in attendance all had a positive take on the evening.
You can see for yourself.
Other folks [19] did offer more traditional [20] critical [21] acclaim [22] for the show.
Following his performance, Diplo was flooded with requests to show up at parties - everywhere from frats and off-campus apartments to residence halls [23]. Sure enough, Diplo took the opportunity to see what the night life had in store (perhaps the biggest name to do so since Bloc Party in 2008 [24]). He found toga parties [25], bags of liquid [26] and... game shows?
All signs of a typical night in Syracuse and a successful UU show.
