As the winter doldrums set in, the bright comedic glow of CollegeHumor will be arriving at Syracuse University to warm up the campus' collective funnybone.
CollegeHumor Live, a touring comedy show version of the popular comedy website, is stopping by the Goldstein Auditorium on February 19th [12].
Presented by University Union Performing Arts, comedians Jake Hurwitz, Amir Blumenfeld, Streeter Seidell and Dan Gurewitch (a Syracuse alumnus) are scheduled to perform.
Hurwitz and Blumenfeld (collectively and popularly known as Jake & Amir) are College Humor's well-known comedic duo. With their joint self-titled web series [13] having just been optioned by TBS in December, Hurwitz and Blumenfeld's contagious chemistry will light up the stage.
Seidell and Gurewitch have made a name for themselves on the site with their "Hardly Working" series [14] which is the duo's own unique spin on the workplace comedy. And Gurewitch's return to his alma mater and thorough knowledge of SU will surely result in various Syracuse inspired jokes and routines.
Also in the mix is Seidell and Blumenfeld's infamous prank war history. The war first began in 2006 and has included Seidell tricking Blumenfeld into believing he made a $500,000 half-court shot [15] at a University of Maryland college basketball game to Blumenfeld tricking Seidell to believing that his parachute malfunctioned while skydiving [16] for the first time.
With comedic chemistry and history among the four performers, CollegeHumor Live will provide all the antics of the Internet in the comforts of the SU campus.
Tickets will go on sale at the Schine Student Center Box Office on January 21st at 11am for $5 for SU students. The doors will open at 7:15pm on February 19th with the show starting at 8pm.
