YouTube star Issa Rae [9] is coming to Syracuse University at the end of the month, University Union announced Sunday night.
Rae will speak at Goldstein Auditorium on March 31 at 8 p.m., with E! News on-air correspondent Zuri Hall moderating the event. Tickets will go on sale on Monday at 9 a.m. at the Schine Box Office, and can also be bought online.
The Los Angles-based actress got her acting start in her YouTube series “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl [10],” which has garnered over 23 million views since she started it 2011. She created and stars in “Insecure [11],” an HBO show that focuses on the friendship of two black women in South Los Angeles as they head into their 30s. Her performance in "Insecure" led her to earn a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series.
